When Pain or Discomfort Demands Quick Attention
Not sure what’s going on? We can help
There are moments when a tooth reminds you, very quickly, that something needs attention. Maybe a sharp sense of pain when you sip something cold, a cracked piece of enamel that catches your tongue, or a swelling that appeared overnight. When something feels off, getting help fast can make the difference between a simple fix and a complicated problem.
Our team is ready to step in as soon as you reach out.
What We Can Help With
Emergencies look different for everyone, but these are the situations we see most often:
- Sudden or severe tooth pain: Pain that keeps you awake or makes it hard to chew usually means something inside the tooth needs attention right away.
- Chipped or broken teeth: A broken edge can be smoothed, repaired, or protected so it does not worsen or irritate nearby teeth.
- Knocked out teeth: If a tooth comes out completely, place it in a clean container with milk or your own saliva and bring it with you. Call us immediately.
- Lost crowns or fillings: When a restoration comes loose, the exposed tooth can become sensitive quickly. We can replace or repair what came out.
- Swelling, abscesses, or signs of infection: Infections often come with pressure, a bad taste, or noticeable swelling. Prompt treatment keeps the infection from spreading and usually brings fast relief.
If you are unsure whether your situation counts as an emergency, call. A quick conversation can save you a lot of discomfort.
What To Do Before Your Appointment
These simple steps can help until you are seen:
- Rinse gently with warm salt water to keep the area clean
- Use a cold compress on the cheek for swelling
- Take over-the-counter pain relief if you usually tolerate it
- Avoid chewing on the affected side
- Do not use superglue or household products to reattach a crown or tooth
- If anything worsens, reach out immediately at

If You’re In Pain Right Now
Pain can feel sharp, dull, or pressure-heavy depending on the cause. Until we see you, keeping the area clean and avoiding trigger foods like ice water or very sweet drinks can help. Most patients notice relief shortly after treatment begins because the source of the pain is finally addressed.
If You Are Visiting Without Insurance
If you do not have insurance,
we offer a $90 Focused Emergency Exam and X-ray, with the fee credited toward same-day treatment. This is for new patients, and the offer cannot be combined with insurance or other discounts. The offer is valid for sixty days.
